Auto Messages: Hands‑Free DM Outreach for Expiring Subscribers

Configure rules that automatically DM subscribers before their plan expires. Target by tier, choose how many days before expiry to send, preview with a test DM, and review send logs — all securely via Fansly Management Session permissions.

Auto Messages

What Are Auto Messages?

Auto Messages are Pro‑only automation rules that send direct messages to fans when specific conditions are met. The first supported rule focuses on expiring subscribers — FBuddy automatically sends a DM a set number of days before a subscription ends, optionally limited to a specific tier.

This helps you prevent churn, nudge renewals, and maintain relationships without manually checking who is about to lapse.

Why Use Auto Messages?

  • Save time by eliminating manual outreach for upcoming expirations
  • Improve renewal rates with well‑timed reminders and incentives
  • Personalize by tier — speak differently to Basic vs. VIP tiers
  • Keep consistent contact even during busy periods

Current Automation Type: Expiring Subscribers

The initial release supports an expiring‑subscribers trigger with three controls:

  • Days Before Expiry: choose when the message goes out (0–365 days)
  • Subscription Tier (optional): limit to one tier or send to all
  • Message Text: the content of the DM to send

Important details:

  • Messages are plain text (no media attachments in this version)
  • One message is sent per subscriber when the rule condition matches
  • You can enable/disable each rule without deleting it
  • Subscribers with auto‑renew enabled are skipped (to avoid redundant reminders)
  • Test DM uses a non‑subscriber test recipient to verify permissions — it never messages your fans

Permissions and Safety

Auto Messages use Fansly’s official Management Session system. Nothing is sent unless you explicitly grant the “Send Messages” permission.

  • Required permission: “Send Messages” (everything else can remain OFF)
  • You can revoke or change permissions at any time
  • Only your configured rules send messages; no bulk spamming

Read the step‑by‑step guide: https://fbuddy.net/docs/fansly-management-session-setup/

Key Capabilities

  • Tier targeting: select a specific subscription tier or choose “Any”
  • Fine‑grained timing: anywhere from same‑day (0) to a year in advance (365)
  • Status control: toggle rules Active/Inactive without losing the config
  • Test DM: send a safe test to verify your setup before enabling
  • Recent logs: see a timestamped list of recent sends with recipients

Getting Started

1) Open Auto Messages

  • In Fansly, click the “FB” button (top‑right)
  • Choose “Auto Messages”

2) Configure a Management Session

  • If status shows “Not configured”, click “Open Setup”
  • Follow the guide to create a session and enable only “Send Messages”
  • Use “Send Test DM” to confirm everything works

3) Create Your First Rule

Click “Create New Automated Message” and set:

  • Days Before Expiry: when to message (e.g., 3)
  • Subscription Tier: a specific tier or “Any”
  • Message: your DM text (e.g., renewal reminder with a perk)
  • Active toggle: leave ON to start sending immediately

Press “Create” — your rule is now listed and can be edited or deleted later.

Best‑Practice Templates

Consider keeping messages succinct, friendly, and value‑driven. Examples you can adapt:

  • Renewal Reminder (Any tier): “Hey there! Your subscription is ending soon — I’d love to have you stay. If you renew this week, I’ll send a little thank‑you surprise.”

  • Tier‑Specific VIP: “Hey VIP! Your subscription is expiring in a few days. Renew to keep your perks — priority replies and exclusive drops are waiting!”

  • Same‑Day Nudge (0 days): “Quick heads‑up: your subscription expires today. If you want to stay in the loop, you can renew anytime — I appreciate you!”

Tip: keep it authentic and avoid over‑promising. If you offer extras, follow through consistently.

Monitoring and Iteration

  • Send Logs: open the Recent Logs card to see when and to whom messages were sent
  • A/B by Tier: create separate messages for different tiers and compare renewal results
  • Timing Experiments: test different day offsets (e.g., 1 vs. 3 vs. 7 days)

Editing and Control

  • Toggle Active to pause/resume a rule
  • Edit any field and save to update the behavior
  • Delete rules you no longer need — send logs are preserved for history

FAQs

  • Do I need a Management Session? Yes — and you must enable “Send Messages”.
  • Can I send media or paid offers? Not yet. The current version sends text‑only DMs.
  • Can I target only some subscribers? Yes — pick a specific tier, or leave as “Any”.
  • How do I know it works? Use “Send Test DM” to verify permissions. Test sends do not create log entries; Recent Logs only shows real automated sends.

Summary

Auto Messages turn renewal outreach into a reliable, hands‑off workflow. Start with a simple expiring‑subscribers rule, dial in your timing and copy by tier, and keep an eye on logs to iterate. With explicit permissions and clear controls, you stay in charge while FBuddy handles the busywork.
